STUDEBAKER LARK: CONVERTIBLE - 1960
The convertible was the most frivolous of all Larks and is rather nice looking in my opinion. The no-nonsense styling of Duncan McRae came out best with the roof chopped off. This car looked smaller than it was with a length of just under 4.5 metre. It was by no means a sports car, but it could be ordered with a V8 180 HP or 195 HP engine which gave it ample cruising power. The airplanes in the background of the picture referred to the bird name of the car and were there to indicate the "aerodynamic" styling that "cheats the wind of horsepower-robbing resistance" according to the Lark advertisements.
